AdultsFoundational mechanics to advanced strategy.
Almost everyone walks in thinking they should get in shape first. You do not. The conditioning is a side effect of showing up — trying to earn your way in beforehand is the single most common reason people never start at all.
Adult Fundamentals exists for exactly this. It is a separate class, five days a week, where the entire room is working on the same base positions. Nobody is watching you. They are all busy being bad at something too.
Then there is what actually keeps people here. Jiu Jitsu is a physical chess problem that fully occupies your attention — for one hour, you cannot think about work, or your inbox, or anything else. Most adults come for fitness or self-defense and stay for that hour of silence.
Our Adult Program is designed to provide a comprehensive training experience that transitions from foundational mechanics to advanced strategies. Whether your goal is to get in shape, learn practical self-defense, or compete at a high level, we offer a professional environment tailored to your growth. We focus on building technical precision and mental resilience in an atmosphere that is safe, structured, and community-driven.

Four things every Adult takes home.
Self-Defense & Finesse
Learning to use technique and leverage to overcome larger opponents without needing to rely on brute force.
Resilience & Mental Toughness
Developing the problem-solving skills needed to stay calm under pressure and handle life’s challenges with a clear mind.
Strength & Conditioning
Building functional power, flexibility, and endurance through high-energy grappling sessions.
Life Skills & Community
Training alongside people who will push you, catch you, and celebrate every step forward with you.
Exactly what happensin a class.
No surprises. This is the shape of every session, so you know what you are walking into before you get here.
- 0–10 min
Warm-up
Joint prep and movement drills. Scaled — you go at the pace your body allows, and coaches expect you to.
- 10–35 min
Technique
One position broken down and drilled with a partner. In Fundamentals, this is the core curriculum on a rotating cycle, so you never miss the basics.
- 35–55 min
Positional sparring and rolls
Start light. Nobody expects a new white belt to spar hard, and you can sit rounds out any time — experienced partners will match your intensity.
- 55–60 min
Bow out
Handshakes down the line. Most people stay ten minutes talking about what just happened.

The questionspeople actually ask.
- I’m completely out of shape. Should I wait?
- No — and waiting is what stops most people permanently. Fundamentals is built for day one. You set the pace, you rest when you need to, and the fitness arrives on its own within a couple of months.
- I’m 45. Is that too old to start?
- We have students well past that training happily. Jiu Jitsu is specifically the martial art that rewards technique and leverage over athleticism, which is why so many people start it in their forties and fifties — and why they can keep doing it for decades.
- I’m a woman. Will I be the only one?
- No. We have a strong, established group of women on the mats and we actively encourage more. If you would rather come in with a friend for your first class, bring one — that is common and completely welcome.
- What if I get injured?
- Injuries in a well-run room come from ego, not Jiu Jitsu. Ours is coached actively: rounds are matched, taps are respected instantly, and there is no culture of proving anything. Tell us about any existing injury and we will work around it.
Come to one Fundamentals class. Wear a T-shirt and shorts, bring water, and let the room do the rest.
